Taking young minds seriously

“Young children rise to the expectations we set for them, and they want to emulate the good qualities they see in others.” – Mrs. Scott

Heather Scott relocated to Marietta from California in 2020 with her husband, Matt, and four children.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Brigham Young University, with minors in Psychology and Linguistics.  A committed health and fitness enthusiast, Mrs. Scott enjoys working out with friends, training in mixed martial arts, and preparing healthy and delicious food.

Mrs. Scott is a native of Southern California, where she was surrounded by educators.  Her father, mother, sister, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law are all current or retired educators.  Teaching is in her blood, and she is thrilled to work with our youngest scholars at Veritas.  “I am so grateful to teach in an atmosphere where the cardinal virtues are upheld and integrated into our curriculum and school culture.  Each day in the classroom will be an opportunity to learn – and better understand – virtue, through practice! practice! practice! and praise, as we study examples from literature, history, and daily life,” said Mrs. Scott.

When she is not in the classroom or working with the young women’s group in her local church congregation, Mrs. Scott can be found outdoors — exploring and adventuring — with her family.  She is elated to live in the Mid Ohio Valley, with its rich culture, history, and beauty.
