Dr. Luke Bauserman brings his life-long love of storytelling to a fiction writing course at Veritas Classical Academy. During his undergraduate studies at Ohio University, Dr. Bauserman won the Randolph Stone Award for historical writing, and published short fiction pieces in the Zane Traces Literary Journal. Following graduation, Dr. Bauserman continued his study of story craft at Perelandra College, and was mentored by fiction writing great, David Farland. Dr. Bauserman’s stories have been featured on radio shows, podcasts, and newspapers. He was a two-time presenter at the Tales of the Cumberlands convention, where he shared the stage with New York Times Bestselling authors, and Appalachia’s finest storytellers. His published works include a retelling of Tailypo, a spooky folktale, in a special Halloween edition of the Columbus Dispatch; American Mythology, a YouTube channel with an audience of over 40,000. Some Dark Holler, a novel published in 2017; and the forthcoming sequel, November Witch. He has provided editorial services for multiple published novels and short stories. Students in Dr. Bauserman’s Fundamentals of Fiction course will learn story craft from the greats: Aristotle, Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, J. R. R. Tolkien, and more. This course aims to transform every student into an author, and launch an in-house press for Veritas Classical Academy.
