Taking young minds seriously

Mrs. Cassie Thomas

Mrs. Cassie Thomas is a native of Marietta, Ohio.  She is a graduate of Marietta College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.  Her prior teaching experience has been with pre-K through 5th grade students.

“I am excited to help students understand virtue, teaching them how to think, and instilling in them a love of learning for their entire lives,” said Mrs. Thomas about her post at Veritas.  She continued, “One of the most rewarding things about teaching is that ‘A-ha!’ moment when the student’s face lights up with delight that he’s caught on to the lesson – I get to be part of that amazing process.”

Mrs. Thomas believes in the importance of teaching virtue from a young age.  “These young students are at a point where they are soaking up as much as information as they can process, academic and otherwise, and teaching them virtue will help them form good habits and allow them to grow into great thinkers and good human beings.”  Mrs. Thomas’ younger brother was a student at Veritas so she has appreciated first-hand the effects of a quality classical education.

Cassie and her husband live in Marietta with their newborn son.  She loves the ocean, all things outer space, and art, specifically painting.
