My name is David Veres, I am a teacher at Veritas Classical Academy. I was born and raised in Trenton, NJ where I spent the first part of my career working in the emergency service field on fire trucks and ambulances. After getting married to my wife Keri and having our first son Riley (14) we moved to Cincinnati, OH. While in Cincinnati, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from DeVry University. We had two more children Amelia (10) and Jack (6).
While in Cincinnati, I had the privilege of volunteering in both public and private schools. That is when I discovered my passion for teaching. During COVID, I was asked to teach technology to K-2 students at St. Mark’s Lutheran School. After that, I was able to become a substitute and worked daily with the principal on different projects around the school. I also had the honor of serving on the school board at St. Mark’s.
In that position, I was able to help make improvements at the school, which included the start of a building expansion project. In November 2022, we moved to Marietta, OH where I was able to get back in the classroom and help with my son’s kindergarten class at Warren Local Schools. In August 2023, I was hired at Veritas Classical Academy to teach the first-grade class. Since I started at Veritas, I have continued my education by taking classes through Hillsdale College and other organizations to become a better teacher for our students.
